Easy RV Meals For Your Camping Trip

When planning an RV trip, one of the most important things you need to consider is your menu. You may very well have limited kitchen space, so here are some easy recipes that are delicious and do not require a lot of appliances, gadgets or even a lot of cleaning afterwards. They are RV-friendly!

Most RVs have the benefit of a full kitchen. When you shop for motorhome rentals in Los Angeles, you’re coming from a place that understands fine dining. Preparing tasty meals not only brings your delicious food on the road but bringing your own food also saves money.

Even though you are renting a motor home and your RV kitchen may be scaled down a bit from what you are used to, these simple recipes are perfect for that RV culinary delight.

Here are some meal ideas you can take on the road:

Breakfast—Camp Breakfast: When it is time to break your fast, you may be looking at the most enjoyable meal of the day. If you want a true American vacation experience, try waking up to bacon cooking with over-easy eggs, toast and a cup of coffee. Or a neat combo of homemade biscuits and sausage patties, just add some gooey cheese, some runny eggs, and you have yourself a delicious easy-to-eat Breakfast sandwich.

Lunch—Philly Steak Sandwich: Try this hearty camp favourite that can be made over the campfire. It’s easy; just slice up an Italian loaf of bread most of the way through (not all the way. You can pull it apart later), then stuff it with thinly sliced beef, provolone cheese, sauteed onions, peppers and mushrooms. It is sure to bring everyone back to the campfire. Or you could try grilled Paninis. Press that on the grill and take it to the next level. Stone mill bread, Italian cheese, tomatoes, your meat of choice (or not), lightly butter the outside, grill (on the campfire), and watch ‘em go!

Snack: If your camp needs a boost before lunch, pour some trail mix in a bowl, or cut up some fresh fruit—apples, pineapples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, the usual delicious suspects.

Dinner: Camp Ribs? A simple and excellent dinner for your California motor home trip. Try stacking ribs in an iron skillet with gobs of barbeque sauce and cook over the fire. You could also cook them individually on the campfire grill itself. Or try a foil pack meal: grilled chicken, pineapple, sauteed bell peppers, and onion. Dribble barbeque sauce in, seal the foil, and find a spot on the campfire.

Dessert: Ever hear of ‘em? How about a smores dip? Line the bottom of a cast-iron skillet with chunks of chocolate. Lay marshmallows on top, Broil until the marshmallows are brown and the chocolate is melted and serve by dipping graham crackers. It goes fast.

Now that’s glamping, California style! You may even like the downsized kitchen (less to clean?). And you can use the campfire for a lot of cooking. Keeping the meals simple doesn’t mean they can’t be terrific. Let us know what you like to fix on the road; we’re always ready for another helping.
