Unique Destinations to Kick-Off your Los Angeles Motorhome Road Trip
Posted on Nov 15, 2017
The City of Angels is full of famous destinations that you could visit before picking up your Los Angeles Class A Motorhome or Los Angeles Class C RV and taking off on your planned adventure. From Venice Beach to the Hollywood sign, there is no shortage of places to explore while waiting to pick up or drop off your your California RV rentals, but what if you want to try something a little different? Thankfully, LA is also full of unique, less traveled, or downright strange destinations to explore as well. Keep reading to learn about some favorite local secrets of Expedition Motorhomes, the top provider of RVs in Los Angeles.
Soak up Some Knowledge in one of the Country’s Most Unique Museums
Los Angeles is full of world-class museums, and we encourage all Los Angeles motorhome renters to take some time to explore them while in the city. If you are like many of the folks who lease California RV rentals from Expedition, normal museums don’t cut it. In that case, check out the Museum of Jurassic Technology. The obscure name is perfectly fitting, as many of the exhibits are equally as strange. In short, the MJT showcases advancements of technology and knowledge in conjunction with bizarre artistic, historic, and scientific relics often left open to interpretation. Words simply cannot describe this museum, but if you are looking for something strange before picking up your Los Angeles RVs this is your place.
Explore the Remains of Los Angeles’ First Zoo
While many Los Angeles Class A motorhome renters will head off to the Sunset Strip or Hollywood Boulevard before or after getting their Los Angeles motorhome, Griffith Park in downtown Los Angeles will provide a greater adventure. This park was home to the city’s first zoo, opened in 1912, but has since been abandoned – making it the perfect place to explore before embarking on your California RV rentals road trip. If you visit today, you can explore the various enclosures and even enjoy a picnic at the tables placed in some of them. This truly is a one-of-a-kind LA experience!
Stop into a Quirky Store Built for Time Travelers
The Time Travel Mart, with the slogan “Whenever you are, we’re already then,” is arguably one of the most fun and quirky stores in Los Angeles. With locations on both Sunset and Venice Blvd., this store sells items from the past, present, and future and aims to help time travelers navigate this crazy world. Like the Museum of Jurassic Technology it is hard to put into words, but it is a great place to stop as you explore Los Angeles before kicking off your Los Angeles Class C RV road trip.
While many of our Los Angeles motorhome renters are looking to get their RV and go, we like to encourage those with a little extra time to explore The City of Angels. Of course city life is not for everyone but, with places like those listed above, we here at Expedition Motorhomes will be sure to help you find something that fits your style!
