Tips For Autumn RVing
Posted on Oct 26, 2020
While November is just around the corner, that doesn’t spell the end of LA motor home road trips. Expedition Motorhomes is still very much open, and many of us prefer taking California RV rentals out on the roads in the fall. With autumn comes more temperate weather, fewer crowds in the parks, and less traffic on the roads. In many ways, securing Los Angeles motor home rentals for the fall months is much better than fighting the crowds and heat of summer. If you are interested in renting LA-based motorhomes for a fall road trip, we do have a few tips to make your trip that much more enjoyable. Check out our list below or give us a call to speak with an expert directly.
Choose Your Destination Wisely
All of California is beautiful, but when it comes to fall camping, there are certain places more desirable for a Calabasas RV rental road trip than others. Depending on when you plan on taking your motor home out on the road, some destinations will be better than others. Keep a keen eye on the forecast and plan accordingly.
Get Familiar with Your Heating System
When you pick up your Los Angeles motor home rentals, be sure you are comfortable with how your heating system works. Of course, the experts at Expedition are here to show you, and we will make sure all of your questions are answered before pulling off of the lot.
By its very nature, fall camping will be a little bit cooler, so pack accordingly. Be sure to bring plenty of layers, but also consider activities for cool or rainy evenings. Fall is the perfect time for a family road trip, as the season itself can provide ample opportunities to sit around a board game, do a puzzle, or watch a movie together. Keep this in mind when packing your bags for any LA motor home fall road trip.
Consider Your Kitchen
One of the many benefits of RV camping is the ability to enjoy home-cooked meals in a nice kitchen. When camping in the fall, put some thought into a meal plan that reflects the changing temperatures. Soups, stews, and crockpot meals are all wonderful options in the cooler months and easy to put together in your RV. Of course, don’t forget the marshmallows for around the fire and some hot cocoa for chilly nights!
Autumn is arguably the best time of year to reserve LA motorhomes and take to the road. With fewer crowds and cooler temperatures, you can experience all that California has to offer without having to work extra hard to enjoy it.
